Nadège Patisserie Unofficial Package Redesign
Nadège Patisserie is a Canadian pastry store started by successful food enthusiasts, Nadège Nourian and Morgan Mchugh. Taking huge inspiration from France, the pastry shop provides loads of minutiae pastry items, best known for their macarons.
This pastry shop is one of the first few places in Ontario that sold macarons during the slow "rise" of popularity. As macarons are getting more attention, we decided to take a poke and start a project that includes material research and user research to create a package that encompasses its sophisticated brand while considering the environment. What better way to do so, than to simplify the material and visual design.

Objective
Their current packaging is to keep the product safe using a thermoformed plastic in the thick paperboard package. It is structurally sound, but the packages take up lots of counter space in stores and uses two different substrates. So we challenged ourself to develop an alternative that does not rely on plastic.
Visual and Structure Design
With the refresh we want to keep the product cohesive by utilizing the patterns used in the logo of Nadège as it already does a great job conveying a luxurious, sophisticated, and high end persona. To evoke the experience of the delightful macaroons, we gave the elegant geometric shapes a slightly organic attribute by scattering and lightening the pattern like a gentle sigh.
The design also employs the use of a single substrate without the use of adhesives to create a sturdy and secure package to protect the pastries.
Pack Flat
The customized structure allow the boxes to store flat for the purpose of maximizing storage space. The structure is made easy for employees to quickly form the package.
Smaller Treats
Designed intended for even the smallest treat to be enjoyed with luxury. Perfect for small gifts to surprise friends and family.
